Canada TRV: itinerary notes for Indian applicants

IRCC visitor-visa pages, how travel plans are usually shown, and why you should read the guide for your own form — not a vendor promise.

Overview

Requirements vary by destination country, visa type, and the embassy, consulate or visa application centre handling your file. Always follow the official checklist for your post. This page is general information, not legal advice. FlyDummy does not guarantee that any authority will accept a reservation document.

A Temporary Resident Visa (visitor visa) is decided by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. IRCC publishes application guides and a “visit Canada” hub. Those pages override anything on this website.

Official requirement considerations

IRCC explains who needs a visa, how to apply, and what supporting documents may be relevant. Document lists can differ by visa office and by whether you apply online or on paper.

Use the document checklist generated for your own application in the IRCC account or the PDF guide named on the official site.

Whether flight details may be required

Some files include a travel itinerary so the officer can see intended dates and cities. Whether your personal checklist asks for flights, a reservation, or nothing of the kind is for IRCC’s list to say — not for a vendor to invent.

Whether a fully paid ticket is necessarily required

IRCC has publicly advised applicants not to buy non-refundable tickets before a visa is issued, in order to avoid financial loss if the application is refused. That is guidance about risk, not a promise that every officer will treat a reservation the same way.

FlyDummy does not state that a paid ticket is required or that it is never required. If IRCC asks you for a specific booking, follow IRCC.

When to purchase actual flights

A cautious approach is to buy the fare after you have a visa, unless IRCC or your checklist says otherwise.

A FlyDummy PDF is not an Air Canada or WestJet ticket and cannot be used to board.

Common mistakes to avoid

Uploading a SAMPLE watermarked page.

Return dates that ignore the invitation letter or leave period.

Uploading an expired hold or a SAMPLE page.
